There is no age restriction to launch a model rocket with a motor class A to G. However, there is an age restriction to launch a high powered rocket (motor class H to O). An individual aged 14 to 17 may be considered a Junior member and must have an adult sponser who holds at least the same certifications being attempted. Please see the Canadian Association of Rocketry website for more information on the certification process.

There are four certification levels for high power rocketry in Canada. Each level (L1, L2, L3, and L4) allow you to launch higher impulse motors. See the Canadian Association of Rocketry website for more detail.

Our meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month from 1pm to 3pm at The Hanger Flight Museum in Calgary, AB. If the first Sunday is during a long weekend the meeting is postponed until a week later. Please see our calendar.

There is a $25 CAD fee to launch a high powered model rocket. If you are a CAR-ACF member and/or are below 18 years old, launching a model rocket is free. However, if you are 18+ and not a member of CAR-ACF and which to launch a model rocket there is a $5 CAD fee. Please bring cash.

All rocket launches are free to the public.

Yes. There are three high powered rocket clubs in Alberta. The Edmonton Rocketry Club, Calgary Rocketry, and Lethbridge Rocketry Association
