Calgary Rocketry - Club Membership
Calgary Rocketry is Alberta’s home for model, mid-power, and high-power rocketry. Whether you're just starting out or pursuing your Level 3 certification, we provide the community, equipment, and events to help you fly safely and successfully.
Member Benefits
- Organized Launches: We host high-, mid-, and low-power launches throughout the year with all launch equipment provided.
- Launch Access: Membership includes free access to low/model power launch days organized by the club.
- Launch Authorization: We obtain permits from Transport Canada and local authorities using our CAR/ACF framework for safe, legal high-power flying.
- Safety & Insurance: All launches follow CAR-ACF rules. Model flights are covered under CAR insurance. High-power flyers require valid CAR-ACF membership.
- Club Equipment: Use our pads, rails, and controllers at events. No need to bring your own setup.
- Motor Case Rentals: Members can rent hardware for use at club launches (not for personal use).
- Mentorship Program: A high-power mentorship program supports members working toward certification (details coming soon).
- Workshops & Meetings: Attend monthly meetings and build nights at Roots2STEM in Calgary.
- Club Communication: Stay connected through Facebook, Instagram, and our members-only Discord channel.

Airdrie Launches
Calgary Rocketry membership is not required to participate in weekend model rocket launches in Airdrie. These require a valid CAR-ACF membership.
How to Join
All Members: Complete the embedded Zeffy Membership Form below as the first step to join or renew.
New Members: After submitting the Zeffy form, download and fill out the PDF membership form. Email it to our Treasurer to complete your registration.
Renewing Members: Please also complete the Zeffy form. If your contact details have changed, email an updated PDF form to the Treasurer.

Membership Disclaimers
1. Participation & Safety Disclaimer: All participants must follow the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR/ACF) Safety Code and any additional safety instructions provided by Range Safety Officers (RSOs). Failure to comply may result in removal from the launch site.
2. Parental Supervision for Minors: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child’s behavior and safety during launch events.
3. Liability Disclaimer: Calgary Rocketry and its volunteers are not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained during participation in any club event. Participation is entirely at your own risk.
4. Weather Disclaimer: Launch events are subject to cancellation or delay due to weather conditions. Calgary Rocketry will make every effort to communicate changes through our Facebook page by 8:00 PM the night before or as soon as conditions are deemed unsafe.
5. Rocket Inspection Requirement: All rockets must pass a safety inspection prior to launch. The Launch Control Officer (LCO) and RSOs reserve the right to deny any rocket deemed unsafe or non-compliant with launch standards.
6. Engine & Altitude Restrictions: Only certified motors and rockets within site-specific altitude limits are allowed. Launching uncertified experimental motors is not permitted unless explicitly approved under CAR/ACF Experimental Rules and permits.
7. Spectator Notice: Spectators are welcome but must remain within designated viewing areas and follow the safety instructions of event staff at all times.
8. Photography & Media: By attending Calgary Rocketry events, you acknowledge that photos and videos may be taken for promotional or educational use. If you prefer not to appear in media, please notify a club officer on-site.
9. Site Conduct: Please respect the land, remove all garbage, and follow all posted rules and volunteer instructions. Calgary Rocketry operates on private or permitted public lands and we must maintain a positive relationship with landowners and governing bodies.
